January Prayer Points

We are gratified by the help we can provide. But we are saddened by the stories of crisis our clents bring to us. Especially, we are concerned for women facing unexpected pregnancy and feel they have few or no choices. Clients and counselors share stories of joy from our Medical Clinic’s ultrasound exam room. The first view of the baby has determined the hearts and plans of many parents. We are blessed to share these moments.

"I was referred to The Crossing by the Health Dept. three times before I finally found the courage to walk through the doors. I quickly realized that I wouldn't be judged or misunderstood here. I am truly grateful for all I have learned and received from The Crossing." – Natalie

This month, we ask you to pray for young people facing unexpected pregnancy with the issues and decisions this imposes. We pray we can help them with information, support, resources and comfort, that we can be the Lord’s hands and feet in a difficult place.

For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
— 1 Corinthians 3:9

Together, with the Lord’s help and direction, we believe we are truly able to change lives and offer hope to those in need in our community.

We are grateful for the encouragement the Lord gives us through our clients. Here’re words of inspiration from one of our clients:

"I was a teen mom, now I have teen girls of my own. I'm looking for ways to help encourage them to not become teen moms. They have friends who are happily pregnant."

This month, we ask that you pray for our staff. We feel we are on a battlefield daily. We suffer with clients facing life issues and seeking answers and direction. We struggle with those who oppose our mission. We wrestle with ways to deploy our limited resources efficiently and effectively.

God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit. Then I will teach the rebellious Your ways, and sinners will return to You.
— Psalm 51.10-13

The start of a school year is always exciting for families with small children. And stressful. Navigating these early weeks is immensely challenging for any family, but particularly for families under stress. Parents face their own educational desires and, regrettably, shortcomings.

At The Crossing, we manage our concern for children by enabling parents to better provide for, nurture and give value to their families through our Earn While You Learn program. We watch parents working through our instructional video programs. They talk about how these parenting techniques help their families. We see lives changing.

One client professed, "The Earn While You Learn program made it possible for me to stay in school, because I could get diapers and wipes and clothes for my child through boutique rewards."

We ask you to pray for families working to improve and strengthen relationships.

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
— Proverbs 22.6
